Colon,
Panama

DAY 1...Colón’s history has always been defined by the desire for the riches of its natural resources. From its gold and silver to its value as a trade route made possible by the Panama Canal, Colón is today known for the Zona Libre – the largest free-trade zone in the Americas. The Zona Libre links producers in North America, the Far East, and Europe with the Latin American market. As such, it is home to more than 1,600 companies and several dozen banks.

Panama Canal,
Panama

DAY 2...At nearly 51 miles long and connecting two oceans with a vast “highway of water,” the Panama Canal easily earns its reputation as the Eighth Wonder of the World. Enjoy a cool and breezy nighttime passage during which the lights illuminate the inner workings of the waterway. Experience a once-in-a-lifetime thrill as your ship is raised, then lowered 85 feet to sail gracefully through three massive locks that transport you from the calm Pacific Ocean to the shimmering waters of the Atlantic.

Balboa/FuerteAmador,
Panama

DAY 3...One of the entrances to the Panama Canal on the Pacific side, Balboa/Fuerte Amador was founded in 1519 and is a short distance from Panama City.  In 2012 Balboa was ranked #1 in Latin America in the category of world's busiest container ports. Sightseeing highlights include the colonial homes, the Administration Building, the Goethais Memorial, the Prado, and the local handicraft markets of traditional Panamanian crafts.

Isla De Coiba,
 Panama

DAY 4...Covering 430,825 pristine acres, the island of Coiba has been identified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and offers some of the world’s most superb snorkeling. The warm, translucent waters are teeming with dazzling marine life and surrounded by one of the largest coral reefs on the Pacific. Follow them to the underwater Cordilera mountain chain, which extends as far as the Galápagos Islands.

Golfo Dulce(Puerto Jimenez), Costa Rica

DAY 5...Picture Jurassic foliage growing down steep hillsides all the way to the waterline, the hoots  of monkeys echoing through trees choked by orchids. Golfo Dulce is one of Costa Rica’s most biodiverse areas, where both the jungle and the sea brim with life. Explore the canals by kayak in search of javelinas, butterflies, and more bird species than in all of North America.

Bahia  Drake,
Costa Rica

DAY 6... Believed to be a port visited by Sir Frances Drake in the 16th century, Bahía Drake is actually composed of two towns, Agujitas, along the southern shore of the bay; and Drake, to the north. The beautiful and remote coastline of sparkling coves, pristine beaches, and rocky crags extends for miles and the bay can only be reached by road during the dry season. The main attraction of Bahía Drake is Corcovado National Park, a nature preserve and tropical rainforest
Picture

Quepos,
Costa Rica

DAY 7..The former banana-exporting town of Quepos is your basecamp for a day of rainforest adventure. Take a walk along trails that weave up to waterfalls, or ride horseback to a beautiful jungle pool. A float trip through a mangrove swamp populated by monkeys, crocodiles, egrets, and herons is also available. Or you may choose a nature walk through Manuel Antonio National Park, with its lovely beaches, easy trails, and abundant animal life.

Puerto Caldera,
 Costa Rica

DAY 8.... Absorb Costa Rica’s magnificent biodiversity by adding a land package to your cruise. Venture to the Monteverde Cloud Forest, where 300-year-old trees and orchids form a spectacular backdrop to resplendent quetzals, tapirs, monkeys, sloths, and other rainforest residents. Or to Tortuguero National Park, one of the most remote places in Costa Rica, known for being a primary nesting site of endangered green turtles.

A complimentary Windstar Private Event

Isla de Coiba: Island Experience

This exclusive event, only for Windstar guests, takes you to a gorgeous, unspoiled paradise, Isla de Coiba, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is accessible only by special permit. You’ll have access to a spectacular secluded beach where the bar is open and local music is playing.  The fun begins when you are greeted by crew members with coconut drinks to welcome you. Our amazing beach buffet here is worth working up an appetite for — and there are plenty of activities to make that happen. While the chefs work their magic, we’ll help you find the fun. Highlights include an Officer vs. Guest volleyball tournament, bocce ball, Steiner Fitness Program, and a mixology class featuring a local-themed drink. We definitely suggest you take advantage of our snorkeling equipment here. When you come up for air, take a selfie with your lovely yacht in the background … or … sneak away for beachside relaxation at umbrella cabanas. All in all, a special day where, at this Windstar Private Event, you can choose to do a lot or nothing at all.
Please note: This Private Event has been scheduled in a way that will allow you to book and experience another shore excursion on the same day and you will not miss anything.
